Industry Night: Cybersecurity Jobs in Rural New Mexico

Eastern New Mexico University-Ruidoso

Please join ENMU-Ruidoso Cybersecurity Center of Excellence and the National Cybersecurity Training and Education Center (NCyTE) along with cybersecurity subject matter experts and our keynote speaker for an Industry Night dinner and panel discussion. Panelists will discuss cybersecurity jobs in rural New Mexico and student pathways beginning in high school. 

Discussion questions: 

  • How do we grow awareness and student enrollment from the public schools? 
  • How do we educate grades 7-12 teachers to teach cybersecurity in their classes? 
  • What cybersecurity and or Information technology jobs are available in the local area, state-wide, and nationally?  
  • How do COLLEGE cybersecurity students find a job locally?  
  • What pathways do students have for jobs and or transfer to a university for a bachelor degree? 
  • What is the state of industry support for curriculum, internships, apprenticeships and jobs for COLLEGE cybersecurity students?

  • Cabinet Secretary for the Department of Workforce Solutions-Ricky Serna
  • Cabinet Secretary for Economic Development Department- Alicia Keyes
  • Cabinet Secretary for Homeland Security and Emergency Management- Bianca Ortiz Wertheim
  • STEM Faculty Mescalero Apache Schools-Nate Raynor
  • Director of Economic Development Mescalero Apache Tribe-Ben Martinez
