Who Should Attend:

This workshop is designed for faculty, staff, counselors, and advisors who want to integrate AI into teaching and curriculum development. It’s ideal for those interested in enhancing student engagement, streamlining tasks, and preparing students for an AI-driven future.

The session also prepares attendees for the Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals Certification exam (exam cost not included).

Workshop Description:

This workshop empowers university, community college, and high school faculty, staff, counselors, and academic advisors with the knowledge and tools to effectively integrate AI into their teaching practices and curriculum development. Participants will explore practical applications of AI, including lesson planning, designing engaging and interactive content, creating dynamic assessments, and customizing individualized student learning experiences. Additionally, the workshop will highlight how to enable students to use AI in ethical and productive ways across various disciplines.

Through hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and real-world examples, faculty will gain a deeper understanding of AI’s transformative role in education. They will also explore new forms of student engagement, ensuring responsible AI use in both teaching and learning environments. This workshop prepares educators to harness AI to enhance classroom instruction, streamline administrative tasks, and equip students with the skills needed to navigate an AI-driven future.

Additional Information:

Attending only one of the two days is strongly discouraged. The first day provides foundational content and is followed by a day of building artifacts using AI tools.
For faculty, please have syllabi and other classroom materials available, as we will be using these to create new content.
Attendees will be required to complete a post-workshop survey. Please watch for a follow-up survey in approximately six months to share how you've applied the workshop content!

The CAE Candidates National Center (CCNC), in collaboration with the CAE Peer Review National Center (PRNC), is pleased to announce an upcoming in-person CAE-CD and CyberAI Mentor & Peer Reviewer Workshop hosted at Coastline College

Workshop Details

Dates: May 14–15, 2026
Location: Coastline College – Garden Grove Campus
Travel Support: Limited travel funding may be available for approved participants
Participation Stipend: Participation stipend available for those who qualify and attend the full workshop.
Capacity: Limited to 35 participants

Workshop Overview

This workshop provides training for individuals serving or interested in serving as: Mentors, Pre-Submission Reviewers, and Peer Reviewers.

Participants will receive hands-on training and practical guidance on conducting Pre-Submission Reviews (PSR) and Peer Reviews using current CAE program requirements and review templates.

Workshop participants will:

• Review the CAE-CD and CyberAI application requirements and review expectations
• Practice completing a structured Pre-Submission Review or Peer Review
• Discuss common issues identified during the review process
• Strengthen consistency and quality across the CAE review process
• Review the NCAE tool updates along with the CCNC tool.

Individuals who successfully complete the training may be considered for inclusion on the active CAE Mentor or Peer Reviewer roster, depending on program needs and reviewer availability.

Travel Funding and Participation Stipend Requirements

Limited travel support and a workshop participation stipend may be available for approved attendees, subject to federal grant and institutional requirements.

To be considered, participants must:

• Have directly contributed to their institution’s successful attainment of the CAE-CD designation
• Be legally eligible to receive payment from a U.S. Department of Defense funded grant within the United States
• Be able to complete a valid IRS Form W-9 and Direct Deposit paperwork.
• Able to enter into a contract with Whatcom Community College, as required for reimbursement and payment processing

Participation stipends are available for those who attend the full session

Participants must register for the workshop and submit the Travel Funding Request Form no later than: April 17, 2026

By registering for and attending this workshop, I acknowledge that the training is intended to prepare participants to serve as a CAE Mentor, Pre-Submission Reviewer, or Peer Reviewer. In these roles, participants may be granted access to institutional application materials and review documentation that contain sensitive program information.

I understand that any information reviewed as part of the training or future review activities is confidential and may not be shared, discussed, or distributed outside of the authorized CAE review process.

By requesting travel funding or a participation stipend, I affirm that I meet the eligibility requirements to receive payment from a U.S. Department of Defense–funded grant, including the ability to complete a valid IRS Form W-9 and enter into a contract for services with Whatcom Community College, if required.

Join the National Cybersecurity Training and Education Center (NCyTE) for a focused and interactive virtual C5 Curriculum Work Session created specifically for high school and middle school educators. No prior cybersecurity experience is required, and participation stipends are available for eligible instructors.

This virtual session invites educators from all subject areas to share their classroom expertise and provide hands-on feedback on the C5 Cybersecurity Concept Lessons. Discussion will center on lessons that connect to Technology, Business, Math, and the broader cybersecurity ecosystem, with an emphasis on strengthening classroom relevance, accessibility, and student engagement.

The session will focus specifically on AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP). Educator feedback will directly inform updates to the C5 Cybersecurity Concept Lessons, a set of 13 lessons, along with supporting roadmaps and a planning and pacing guide designed to integrate cybersecurity concepts seamlessly into AP CSP instruction.

During this 60-minute online session, participants will:

Receive an overview of the C5 Cybersecurity Concept Lesson
Review of what is required to complete the work session, including assigned lesson reviews and feedback expectations
Receive a clear breakdown of next steps and requirements needed to complete the session and qualify for the participation stipend, including timelines and submission guidance

Post-Session Requirement

Following the live session, each participant will be assigned one C5 lesson module to review. Participants will have two weeks to complete their review and submit structured feedback using provided guidance. This post-session review ensures thoughtful, classroom-informed input and is required to be eligible for the participation stipend.

$250 Participation Stipend Available

This year, we’re excited to expand CyAD to 2.5 days of connection, learning, and inspiration.

June 23 kicks off with pre-summit workshops, followed by a Welcome Dinner to set the tone.
June 24-25 will be full-day sessions, continuing the rich programming and energy you've come to expect from past years.

Registration is required for all attendees. The registration fee includes access to all sessions and summit materials. Meals include a Welcome Dinner on June 23, daily coffee breaks, snacks, and lunches on June 24 and 25.

Generative AI has rapidly become a staple in the academic toolkit, but its propensity for "hallucinations and incorrect data conclusions"—confident but incorrect assertions—poses a significant challenge for accuracy and academic integrity. This workshop shifts the focus from policing AI usage to empowering students with the critical thinking skills necessary to scrutinize machine-generated data. In this interactive session, participants will learn specific methodologies and requirements for validating AI outputs, including lateral reading techniques, source triangulation, and bias detection. Participants will engage in hands-on "red teaming" exercises where they will generate AI content and practice exposing inaccuracies.

This workshop is funded and tailored specifically for community and technical college faculty members wishing to expand their knowledge, earn an industry certification, and strengthen their ability to incorporate new cybersecurity content in their community college curriculum. This workshop is invite only and is not intended for students or other non-faculty participants.

About the Workshop:

This intensive two-day workshop introduces agentic browsers—AI-powered tools that autonomously navigate, interact with, and extract information from websites on behalf of users—to cybersecurity and technology educators. Participants will explore how these intelligent agents combine large language models with browser automation to perform complex multi-step tasks such as competitive research, data gathering, form completion, and systematic web monitoring. The workshop emphasizes practical applications in education, cybersecurity training, and business contexts, with hands-on experience using leading platforms including Claude in Chrome (Anthropic), Browser Use, and other emerging agentic browser technologies. Through structured exercises, educators will learn to leverage these tools for curriculum development, threat intelligence gathering, student research scaffolding, and automated assessment workflows.

For cybersecurity educators specifically, this workshop demonstrates how agentic browsers can revolutionize security research and training methodologies. Participants will practice using these tools to automate vulnerability research across multiple vendor sites, aggregate threat intelligence from disparate sources, monitor dark web marketplaces for educational case studies, and create realistic penetration testing scenarios. Teachers will learn how to use agentic browsers in lab exercises so that students can safely learn about reconnaissance techniques, practice gathering OSINT (Open Source Intelligence), and see how automated tools can be used for both defensive security monitoring and adversarial automation. The workshop includes critical discussions on the security implications of agentic browsers, including potential misuse vectors, detection strategies, and defensive considerations.

Beyond cybersecurity applications, participants will discover how agentic browsers transform general educational practices and administrative workflows. The workshop includes real-world examples like using automated literature reviews for research, gathering job postings to match curriculum, analyzing training programs at similar schools, and keeping track of regulatory changes that impact educational technology. Educators will complete hands-on projects that include building a custom research assistant for student projects, creating automated monitoring systems for scholarship opportunities, developing comparison matrices of educational technology tools, and designing assignment workflows that leverage agentic browsing for authentic learning experiences. By workshop conclusion, participants will possess both theoretical understanding and practical skills to ethically integrate agentic browsers into their teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities.

About the Workshop:

This workshop presents a series of twelve hands-on exercises focused on cybersecurity Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC)—now enhanced through the responsible and strategic use of artificial intelligence.

Developed in response to a national workforce need, these materials prepare cybersecurity technicians and students to be more knowledgeable, analytical, and actively engaged in the compliance process. In this AI-integrated version, participants explore how AI can support risk assessments, automate compliance monitoring, analyze audit findings, and strengthen governance documentation while also addressing the risks and ethical considerations associated with AI use in regulated environments.

The workshop includes hands-on labs, auditing activities, and collaborative group projects. Participants will use AI tools to simulate audit scenarios, interpret PCI-DSS requirements, draft policy documentation, and evaluate organizational risk posture using real-world case studies.

Attendees will receive access to a complete course shell, assessment items, and a short capture-the-flag toolkit—now supplemented with AI-enhanced exercises and instructional guidance for integrating AI into GRC curriculum.

Business leaders nationwide have emphasized the need for community college cybersecurity graduates to be better prepared for the Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) certification exam, which is required to perform PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) audits. This workshop equips faculty with practical strategies to teach GRC concepts alongside emerging AI-driven compliance tools and AI governance considerations.

Designed specifically for college faculty teaching cybersecurity and information assurance programs, this workshop empowers educators to modernize their curriculum and prepare students for today’s compliance-driven and AI-influenced security landscape.

Workshop participants are expected to actively engage in the workshop by participating in the hands-on activities and interactive discussions.
