The National Cybersecurity Training and Education Center (NCyTE) and the Washington State Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity (CoECyber) have partnered together to provide professional development opportunities to Washington State community college faculty as part of their mission to support those interested in becoming cybersecurity faculty, or faculty wishing to enhance their skills and knowledge in the cybersecurity field.

Stipends are available to approved applicants to support the course fee of $600  for the following course.

Microsoft Security: Join us for this hands-on workshop, designed for those who are looking to familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of security, compliance, and identity (SCI) across cloud-based and related Microsoft services. Candidates should be familiar with Cloud related technologies and understand how Microsoft security, compliance, and identity solutions can span across these areas to provide a holistic and end-to-end solution. This course combines lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on labs.

It is recommended that participants attend the Introduction to Cloud with Azure course that starts on Jan. 28, 2023 prior to this course.

    Requirements:

    • You must register and complete all application information by the deadline of March 16, 2023, or until the workshop is full
    • You must be approved for the stipends by NCyTE/CoECyber. No more than two stipends per person will be approved.
    • You must be an instructor at a regionally accredited U.S. Community College in a business, information technology, or other degree program
    • You must satisfactorily complete the course
    • You must fill out a post-course evaluation

Note: If you receive a stipend for the professional development class and must drop, you must notify Karen Stanton at karen.stanton@wastc.org no less than one week before the start of the class. Failure to do so will result in a $100 drop fee that will be invoiced to you.

We hope that you will not pass up this valuable opportunity! We will let you know within 5 business days of application whether your stipend has been approved.
