National Cyber League - Team Funding Application
Apply by February 15, 2023, for best consideration.

The National Cybersecurity Training and Education Center (NCyTE) is offering funds to cover the National Cyber League (NCL) spring registration fees for a select number of high school courses.

High school teachers teaching a cybersecurity course or one with cybersecurity content are eligible to apply. Teachers will need to register all students in the course.  NCyTE will send an evaluation to teachers and students after the competition to find out how the competition complimented the high school course and how it improved students' cybersecurity knowledge and skills as well as influenced future career choices.

Eligibility requirements

  • Funding is limited to high school courses taught in grades 9 to 12. 
  • All students in the course must register for the competition. 
  • Only one course per high school with 30 or fewer students. 
  • Teachers must agree to complete the post-NCL competition evaluation and need to require students to complete the post-NCL competition evaluation.

Student requirements
NCL recommends "Players have a cross-section of beginner knowledge and skills in computer science, networking, systems administration, operating systems, and programming/scripting."

Restrictions

  • Students must be at least 13 years old
  • Students must be in grades 9 - 12
  • One course per high school
  • 30 students or fewer per high school course
  • Clubs and organizations are not eligible

    Apply by February 15, 2023, for best consideration. To apply, click the "Register" button and complete the questionnaire. Applicants will be reviewed based on student population, need, location, and other factors. Applicants will be notified by February 22nd if they have been approved for funding. Applicants will be notified by February 22nd if they have been approved for funding.

    NCL Schedule

    • Gym Open: January 30 - May 27
    • Practice Game: March 20 - March 26
    • Individual Game: March 31- April 2
    • Team Game: April 14 - April 16
