Cybersecurity Program Development Workshop: Empowering WA's Colleges to Thrive

May 9, 2023 | 1:00 - 3:00 pm | Virtual

Ready to create or further develop a cybersecurity program at your community or technical college? This workshop is designed for current faculty and administrators who want to develop a new or improve an existing cybersecurity program at regionally accredited Community & Technical Colleges in Washington State. With over 15,000 cybersecurity unfulfilled jobs in Washington alone, building your cybersecurity program is a great way to increase student enrollment. College instructors and administrators from Washington State who successfully complete the workshop and workshop evaluation are eligible to receive a $250 stipend.

Topics include:

  • How to utilize national standards (NICE, CAE) to develop or improve a cybersecurity program.
  • Steps to develop a cybersecurity program including cost estimates and curriculum resources.
  • Funding sources for proposed or existing cybersecurity programs.
  • Tips and resources for a successful grant proposal.
  • Overview of the Program of Study (PoS) validation and CAE designation processes.

Presenters

The presentation will be led by Corrinne Sande, Executive Director of NCyTE, who brings over two decades of experience teaching in the classroom and leading cybersecurity initiatives across the nation. Joining her will be Stephen Troupe, Director of the CAE Candidates National Center, and Brent Lundstrom, representing the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Washington State.
